Learning English in Spain is difficult for a native Spanish speaker. The person is not going to get the correct environment, and thus, the learning process will be difficult and time consuming.

However, by making a proper strategy, we can make this process a little less time consuming and more enjoyable. Learning English in Spain doesn’t have to be complicated only if you follow certain steps. To do so, there are a couple of things that you can do. First, go to the nearest shop and get yourself a Spanish-English-Spanish dictionary. This will help you grasp the meaning of words easily in your own language. Also get hold of an English-Spanish-English dictionary.

These two dictionaries will help you understand the meaning of the most common words in your own language. You can take these small books with you anywhere and read them at your own convenience. You may even read them as you’re traveling to save time and still get interesting results.

Now with this small book, you will be able to put together words and form simple and short sentences to communicate with other English speakers around you. Do not get scared, if you are wrong they won’t laugh at you. Rather, the will probably motivate you by correcting you whenever you go wrong. Remember, you don’t need to be perfect. Simply be yourself, speak as best as you can and let English speakers help you out where need be.

Get yourself some English people to talk with. This is the most effective way to learn the basics of the language. If the person knows Spanish too, it would be even easier for you to learn English in Spain. Conversation is really important to learn the language easily and quickly. So, always look for suggestions for improvements and talk to the native speakers frequently.

A child talks slowly and with more clarity than an adult person. Hence, you can try and find some children in your locality to speak English daily. Stay around them, observe how they learn and speak and apply the same so as to learn English yourself.

When walking on the roads, look around you for some English words written on advertisements and other places. Always try to find out their meaning by asking somebody who knows English and Spanish too. This will increase your vocabulary and you will find a new word added to your own dictionary. It also helps in memorizing the English words because you will find the word again at another place also and immediately recall its meaning.

At last, practice whatever you have learned regularly. Spend 15-20 minutes daily to watch a TV serial, listen to a radio program or at least read the newspaper in English. This way you can practice the English language at home and before you know, you would be speaking and writing in the language pretty easily.
